Project Overview

As part of the Perth – City of Light framework, the project brief was to replace the existing lighting installation including all cabling infrastructure, metal bracketry and fixtures with a new Dynamic LED system. Challenges included concerns over the weight of any new structure and the fixing method proposed along with the potential impact any bridge closure would have on the City.
A thorough survey and inspection of the existing installation took place to ensure that the new proposed metal framework and fixtures would satisfy both the weight and fixing method concerns from both the Council structures and planning departments. It was important to engage with SEPA early enough to establish they had no issues with any works like this taking place over the unique fishing waters of the River Tay. The program of works took full cognisance of the potential impact the inevitable bridge closure would have on the city, with careful planning, off site preparation and using the appropriate access equipment which would maximise the work-rate during night-time working hours.
Working closely with Perth and Kinross Council and in collaboration with our framework partners (IKM and SSUK), LITE provided a complete Turnkey solution – Application support, structure and ecology, supply and installation, controls and configurations. Using Color Kinetics products throughout – ColorGraze MX4 RGBW (4ft) and ColorBlast Gen2 RGBW all controlled via Pharos LPC with 3G remote access.
